Dance performance for elementary school children
Free entrance
18:00
The performance tells the story of two athletes from different nationalities who meet in various sports competitions. Each of them strives to be the winner, but success alternates between the two. The performance explores the theme of mutual competition, examining how to accept defeat, how not to lose hope, and how to continue pursuing one’s goals. It also seeks ways to foster friendship, reconciliation, and mutual support.
The concept and direction of the performance are by Ieva Jackevičiūtė who brings together dance and sport. Through dance, the specifics, principles, and rules of various sports are conveyed. Here, the audience is not a passive observer – they are active participants in the action, becoming fans, referees, or even players.
The founders of No Shoes Theatre, the authors of the project ideas and their realisation are the family duo of art educators Ieva Jackevičiūtė and Raimondas Klezys. The theatre carries out professional art and cultural education projects for babies, children and young people to increase the accessibility of culture in the regions. Therefore, both artistic and educational projects are exclusively designed to be shown not only on the theatre stage, but also in any other spaces that are not primarily adapted for theatre: classrooms, halls, courtyards, libraries, parks, etc. With live music, actors and educators create an interactive, multi-sensory movement theatre that always puts the audience at the centre of the action, inviting them to get involved.
The production of the performance is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
