“Cossoc” is a hypnotic choreography filled with suggestive images of what two bodies in constant balance can do. Movement research about the complexity and simplicity of a relation. A window for observation and curiosity of the audience, a border between a public and private space.
By establishing an intimate relation between the performers, they create a strong connection, through which they reach the surroundings and integrate with the space. The piece leads the audience on a path of calming down and listening. Perhaps the whole creation is in search of a place to be with ease.
Magí Serra is a Catalonian performer and creator based in Barcelona. He is a versatile performer who works with many choreographers active in the Catalan scene such as Roberto Olivan, GN/MC, Roser López or Lali Ayguade. 6 years ago, he started to create his own projects: “Esvorell”, which premiered in Fira Mediterrània de Manresa (2016) and a solo “The Size of a Detail”, premiered at Sismògraf Festival (2018).
Anamaria Klajnšček was born in Slovenia and did her studies in Amsterdam (AHK). She worked for a German company TanzMainz (creating pieces with Sharon Eyal, GN/MC, Guy Weisman & Roni Haver) and now working as a freelancer with different choreographers (Roser López Espinosa, Pere Faura etc.) as well as doing her own work.
Anamaria Klajnšček and Magí Serra met in 2018 and a year later they started collaborating on a research of a new physical partnering principal. “Cossoc” was fully premiered in spring of 2021 at Sismograf Festival and was performed in many different festivals nationally as well as internationally. In addition to the duet, they have created a short dance film and held workshops based on their partnering principles.
