MATERIA Explorations

“MATERIA Explorations” is an exhibition co-curated by Andrea Salustri and Marija Baranauskaitė Liberman. The exhibition includes artworks that investigate the materiality of polystyrene and play with our perception of it, taking the ideas underlying the performance “MATERIA” a step further. Through the means of sculptures, kinetic, and video installations, the artists invite the visitors to look at polystyrene in a different light. The artworks were created in the frame of “The Sphere”: a European project and a web 3.0 infrastructure, that supports reformulations of contemporary circus works, while attempting to develop new ecologies of funding for the performing arts.
