RoZéO
Opening event
FranceCategory: TOP, FAMILY FRIENDLY
RoZéO is a desire to return to nature and change our relationship to it. Perched on frail metal poles, carried by an imperceptible breath, they sway gently. They move the sky and dance in the restless air. Like the reeds of the Camargue, they interact with the landscape. They evoke images of shepherdesses, witches, priestesses or amazons. They invite us to look far away and feel the breath of air. If we cannot always understand the cycles and interactions of the living, we can feel the matrix through these elements. Making our bodies and souls anchored in nature, revealing the invisible through the perception of the moving air.
Whispered, murmured, whistled sounds, a live musician accompanies the installation. Between pre-recorded electronic music and a live instrumentarium, a live score drives the performance like the breath and life of the inner Earth. Suspension, immobility, and slow oscillations invite contemplation.
RoZéO is a living installation – an invitation to slow observation and deep breaths beneath the endless sky.
Stéphane Girard
Explorer of underground worlds and surveyor of vertical spaces, Stéphane Girard is a “man of the great heights” captivated by the conquest of the depths. Friend of Pierrot Bidon with whom he directs the Studios de Cirque de Marseille and co-signs Le Forgeron du Temps, Circo da Madrugada, La Grume and Place des Anges. At the same time, he collaborates with Nicolas Hulot (Ushuaïa) to discover the great power of nature and its landscapes.
Fifteen years of artistic collaboration allowed him to sharpen his vision and develop a strong visual sense of space. Today, Stéphane leads Gratte Ciel, with a primary focus on the relationship between the infinitely vast and the deeply intimate. Over the years, his writing has become more refined, and dramaturgy has gradually taken precedence over spectacle.
Camille Beaumier
Camille Beaumier joined Stéphane Girard in 2019. She studied art history, specializing in photography and cinema, before turning to street arts (Metalovoice, Transe Express), then spent ten years with NoFit State Circus (UK). She quickly became an integral part of the management team, contributing to the company’s creations and specializing in the production of international projects.
Gratte Ciel is a company created in Arles in 2013. Today, it is led by Stéphane Girard and Camille Beaumier. We see our territory as a vast space for encounters and experimentation, all of which help shape our artistic journey. These encounters and experimentations have given rise to our current repertoire of performances and projects in development.
The presentation of the performance at ConTempo Festival is supported by the French Institute in Lithuania.
