They are two or maybe three : the musician, the acrobat and his stone double.
The only setting is a spinning quadrangular pyramid placed in nature that endlessly plays between weights and counterweights, balances and imbalances, staying still or taking to the skies. Pure pleasure in movement, but also a metaphor for great or intimate odysseys, of human or otherwise perishable conditions…
Carried by a sound composition played live and broadcast in quadraphony, the acrobat lightly gives himself in to a gravity that is unescapable… but not necessarily feared.
Taking up the principles that have made its previous shows successful and special, the La Migration company brings together circus performance and the unexpected events of an awakening landscape, to draw the spectator into a thrilling meditation.
Initiated by Quentin Claude and Marion Even, the company La Migration is dedicated to the performing arts and the creation of kinetic structures, combining circus and plastic work. Close to the thought of Land Art, we wish to take a look at the landscape through an acrobatic practice in movement. We work mainly outdoors, including the landscape as a playing partner. To “be” outside is to ask oneself the question of how to “be” in the world. We wish to go beyond the Western subject-object relationship: to no longer simply be the observer or builder of this landscape but to be part of it, to nourish it as much as it nourishes us, to be in coexistence, in dialogue with it. “To be” outside is also to question the places where the circus is performed, by leading it towards new explorations.
