Stepai, gazo!
Have you ever seen a performance born out of nothing, out of nowhere? How does this happen? Does it require a special environment? Or maybe just a lot of wisdom, fantasy and good stories? Actors Laurynas Jurgelis and Aleksandras Špilevoj will reveal incredibly interesting, but little-known events in the life of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Stephen Bathory in the fun and ironic form of the two-actor’s storytelling performance “Stepai, gazo!”. From the very first minutes of the performance, it will become clear to the audience that S. Bator’s life is full of interesting, intriguing and engaging adventures – could it be different if this ruler of our country came from Transylvania, which is well known to the world for its legendary Count Dracula and his horror stories.
Aleksandras Špilevoj is a theatre director, playwright, actor and educator. Špilevojus won the Ministry of Culture’s Young Artist Prize in 2018 and a Golden Cross of the Stage Award for the dramaturgy of the play Bagadelnia which he himself directed at Šiauliai Drama Theatre in 2019.
