The Fulfilment
IrelandRecommended age: 12+
Performed in Lithuanian and English
Category: YOUTH, GURMAND
“The Fulfilment” is a modular, audience-driven performance built around a simple mechanic: a pile of empty frames, and a series of titles. What happens next is determined by those present, and gradually as the fulfilled frames accumulate, an unpredictable live exhibition emerges, shaped entirely by those present.
Each performance becomes a portrait of our collective moment.
This work is modular and will be adapted to each cultural and socio-political context.
To fulfil: (verb)
- achieve or realise (something desired, promised, or predicted).
- carry out (a duty or role) as required, promised, or expected.
Darragh McLoughlin is the artistic director of Squarehead Productions and a graduate of ACAPA, as well as a laureate of the prestigious circusnext platform. In his work, McLoughlin is renowned for his ability to embrace deceptively simple yet intensely rigorous physical and mental challenges. In the performance “The Fulfilment”, the artist channels this extreme focus into live interaction with the audience, where every action and decision demands absolute presence in the “here and now.”
The presentation of the performance at ConTempo Festival is supported by the Culture Ireland Foundation.
