ZOOG
ZOOG (‘couple’ in Hebrew) is a glimpse into a moment between two acrobats, a routine, a ritual. It is an intense game of love and hate, an endless pursuit of togetherness, an exchange of cruelty and tenderness. Through their bodies, the two share their intimate story: the highs and the lows, the hidden, the complex and the joyous that lies in the foundation of any relationship. Using a unique movement language which they developed, influenced by Capoeira, parkour and dance, Amir and Hemda embark on a physical adventure that is honest, raw, full of charm and humor. They break gender norms by not conforming to the traditional roles in partner acrobatics. The two, while different in their personality and interpretation, exist with equal strength on stage.
Amir and Hemda are working together since 2013. Following their artistic formation in Israel and Italy they graduated from the formation “insertion professionnel” at Le Lido – Centre des Arts du Cirque de Toulouse in 2017. Parallel to performing with the company “La Tournoyant”, they are presenting their own work internationally. The project Zoog is shortlisted CircusNext 2018-2019, European programme coordinated by Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe and supported by the European Union.
