DOWN
A moment of descent after ecstasy, a wave of depression, the sensation of the body letting go, the spirit becoming detached: that is the down. Mélissa Guex experiments with the rhythm of the descent, then the music of the ascent, the body freezing or following a drum of emotions; to give birth to an explosive performance as an attempt to respond to the collective down. A duet with bright colors and festive costumes, a performance to be consumed like a drug that one would take to get back up.
Mélissa Guex (*1993) is a dancer, choreographer and performer. She grew up in a small village at the foot of the Swiss Jura. She developed a taste for the stage while practicing theatrical improvisation and decided to train in both dance and theatre. She collaborates and participates in various creations and artistic worlds with, among others, Géraldine Chollet, Augustin Rebetez and Anna Marija Adomaityte. Mélissa juggles between the world of the night and the theatre where she experiments with different forms of performance. She explores transformation through costume and uses urban space as a playground.
